Recently, 45Fix, a company that specializes in connecting homeowners with reliable contractors, became a referral partner for Roy Wheeler Realty Co. Michael Guthrie, CEO of Charlottesville’s oldest real estate company, said it was an easy decision once he heard about 45Fix’s business model.
“We are constantly getting calls from our clients asking us to recommend various contractors to remodel kitchens, build decks or finish basements, etc. Now these clients are one phone call or one internet click away from getting help with whatever project they have in mind,” Michael said.
In fact, Roy Wheeler Realty called on 45Fix themselves to remove an old pool house. The current location of the historic Roy Wheeler building was once a residence with a pool and a pool house in the rear that dated back as much as 50 years. Roy Wheeler no longer wanted or needed either the pool or the pool house. What made the company choose 45Fix was not only the competitive price but also their proposal to not just tear the old pool house down, but to disassemble the building and recycle it as a tool shed for a large estate on Route 20 North.
“We try to minimize waste, no matter what project we are working on,” said Phaedrus Acgtblu, the CEO of 45Fix. “We recycle when we can and we always try to save our customers money. In this case, we helped one client get rid of a pool house and another client get a new shed.”
The innovative Charlottesville firm delivers multiple proposals from carefully screened contractors and then provides a local representative to guide the process from beginning to completion, insuring that every home improvement project goes smoothly.
“The top consumer complaint nationwide originates from homeowners trying to arrange and complete home improvement projects,” stated Acgtblu. “Our mission is to provide excellent service on home improvement projects from start to finish.”
45Fix maintains a large stable of proven, reliable contractors. The company screens each contractor, checking for references, licenses, insurance, as well as for any past judgments against the contractor.
With larger projects, 45Fix will provide two to three solid proposals for the homeowner to consider. There is no charge to the customers for estimates.
“Our customers value their time and experience in addition to the money required for their building projects,” Phaedrus pointed out. The company is staffed by Larry Johnson, Project Oversight Manager; Carolyn Fletcher, Director of the Call Center; and Chris Fishel, Director of Information. Johnson is in charge of keeping up with project progress and serves as a liaison between the contractors and homeowners.
45Fix can arrange for and supervise numerous projects to include bath, kitchen and basement remodels, sunroom, porch and other additions, garages, cabinets, countertops, decks, patios, electrical, plumbing, roofing, siding and windows and doors.
Local contractors have found 45Fix to be a boon to their businesses. “We harness the power of the internet to connect homeowners with professional contractors,” Phaedrus stated. “We are able to make contractors more productive and profitable by assisting them with everything from identifying qualified customers to completing jobs with no receivables issues.”
In other words, 45Fix allows the contractors to do what they do best, to get more jobs and jobs they are best qualified to undertake.
