45Fix is one of the sponsors of Team Jefferson and their vehicle Tommy Jr. in the DARPA Grand Challenge to design a completely self-driving robotic vehicle. There are no humans on board and no humans controlling the vehicles; they are completely autonomous. The 2007 competition takes place in city driving conditions, with the robots obeying traffic laws, merging with traffic, parallel parking and many other challenges.

Team Jefferson has been participating in the DARPA Grand Challenge since 2005. In 2007, they were one of the 36 teams chosen from 138 applicants to advance to the semi-finals. Much like 45Fix in the home remodeling market, Team Jefferson has achieved success by working hard and smart.
